The Science of Getting Rich

Although The Science of Getting Rich was written by Wallace D Wattles a hundred years ago, the wisdom in it is timeless. While he wrote about how to get rich, he emphasises how this prosperity is important to having abundance in all other areas of life too.

The Right To Be Rich

He wants us to understand that we all have the right to be rich. The reason for this is that it is near impossible for us to develop fully as a human being and to fulfil our potential unless we have enough money. To really be able to be successful in life we need to be able to use the resources that will help us fulfil our true potential and that takes money.

He is clear that whether you become successful or not is not down to talent or the environment in which you were raised or even find yourself in now. Instead, he states that there is an exact formula, a science of getting rich that is not about doing certain things, but is about doing things in a certain way that will lead to success, every time for every person.

Every person has a similar opportunity for success by being able to spot the opportunities available to them and taking action on them rather than swimming against the tide and working hard instead of working smart.

The most important first step in this is to develop the right mindset, as thought causes action which causes results.

Increasing Life

He also has some very clear perspectives about abundance versus scarcity. If you look at life around you, especially in Nature, you can see that life’s purpose is to expand. One of the main reasons that we want to get rich is so that we can expand, that is, live life more fully.

We are not born with a blueprint that says that we will be rich or that we will be poor. It is a choice we make. An important mindset shift we must make is that we are creators, not victims of our own lives and as creators, we do not need to compete for what is already there – we create.

Wattles asserts that supply is unlimited as everything that we see has been created from energy and it is up to us to choose whether we compete for what has already been created in physical form around us, or whether we master being creators and cause more to be drawn from the energy universe into tangible form through Law of Attraction.
